Material

This rail is made from steel, which is a classic material for Picatinny rails and mounts. Steel has high stiffness, good wear resistance and stable contact surfaces under repeated mounting. Steel is heavier than aluminium, but for a Picatinny rail the weight difference is often limited in practice. The choice therefore typically depends more on the product's fit, construction and finish than on weight alone. Read more: Steel vs. aluminium – what is best for your rifle?

Surface

This rail is made of blued steel. Bluing is a chemical surface treatment that gives a nice, matte black finish and some degree of corrosion protection. It is a traditional surface treatment for firearm parts. Bluing is substantially less resistant than QPQ-treated steel and hard-anodized aluminium and therefore requires a bit more care. A thin layer of oil after use in damp weather will keep the surface in good condition. Read more about surface treatment: Surface treatment Read more about bluing: Bluing

MOA

MOA indicates the rail's inclination. A 0 MOA rail is flat and is the natural choice for general hunting and range shooting. An angled rail can provide more elevation adjustment in the scope when shooting at longer distances. Always use the MOA value specified for the specific variant. Mounting

The rail is mounted to the rifle's receiver or mounting surface with the supplied screws. Rusan specifies the following recommended torque values: • Torque for countersunk screws: 2.7-3.3 Nm • Torque for set screws (stilleskruer): 2.5-2.6 Nm • Tighten the screws in a cross pattern for even distribution We recommend using a torque wrench during installation. Some rails for rifles with prism/dovetail may require light fitting by a gunsmith. Mounting the rail: Read the guide here

Brand

Rusan is a Croatian manufacturer with over 30 years of experience in mounting solutions for rifles. All products are manufactured in-house on modern CNC machines from solid material – without casting or metal injection. Rusan is known for tight tolerances, high repeatability and a wide range of rings, mounts, Picatinny rails and adapters. Compatibility

The rail features a Picatinny platform and can be used with standard Picatinny rings and mounts. The rail is also compatible with Weaver mounts. Read more about the difference between Picatinny and Weaver here: Picatinny vs. Weaver This provides flexibility because you can combine rail, mount and optic from different manufacturers, provided the mount is designed for Picatinny.
